Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition ushered in the new expansion of Mediterranean Knights, officially launched on May 26

Since its launch, Microsoft has been regularly delivering more additional content (DLC) to Age of Empires series real-time strategy (RTS) gamers. This Thursday, for example, fans of Age of Empires III received a new “Definitive Edition” expansion pack. It is scheduled to go live on May 26, priced at $9.99. Friends who can’t wait, it’s also now available for pre-order through the Microsoft Store or Steam store.

The new expansion, called Knights of the Mediterranean, includes two new civilization factions (as well as nine minor civilizations), a new game mode, historical maps, new achievements and much more.

The Italian and Maltese civilization forces introduced in the new DLC have their own unique playstyles. Players who like economic warfare can enjoy the new Tycoon mode, which is characterized by the pursuit of more macro challenges rather than focusing on the battle itself.

The update also brings eight new maps with randomly generated and unique objectives, all based on areas of European history where conflicts have occurred. In addition, the developer provides a convenient diplomacy screen for players to temporarily form alliances or conduct trade negotiations.

Last month, Microsoft has pushed the “Indian Dynasty” expansion to “Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition” players (the same price is 9.99 US dollars). Now, Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition also has a new expansion pack (Microsoft Store / Steam Game Store).

Meanwhile, Age of Empires IV is also in its first quarterly update phase and has delivered improvements such as mod tools and rankings. Interested friends, also keep an eye out for more announcements at next month’s Xbox /Bethesda Games Show.
