Google has announced its own Pixel Watch for the coming fall. But there is still a lot happening in the area of Wear OS software. This includes, for example, the release of new apps. Google Home, which I sorely miss on Wear OS, is finally set to be made available. Google promises convenient control of its own smart home system for smartwatches with Android. In addition, the new, faster Google Assistant on Wear OS is scheduled to launch in the summer.
App ecosystem to grow faster
In the area of apps, something should also happen properly. For example, the fitness apps for the Pixel Watch are clearly focused on Fitbit. So that’s still a lot of updates to be expected. Google also announced in its own blog that it would bring more apps to Wear OS, including SoundCloud, Deezer, Spotify, Adidas Running, LINE, KakaoTalk and more. The earthquake warning system known for Android smartphones is being extended to Wear OS and Google Wallet is also coming.
Pixel Watch and other new devices
For the upcoming fall, Google has officially made its first Pixel Watch. But primarily only shown and not yet reveal any details about the technical equipment. As a result, there has not yet been a price to be heard. At the same time, there was the announcement of new devices from Fossil, Samsung and Co. Then probably finally with the new Wear OS 3, which until now runs exclusively on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.
