Nvidia GeForce Now: Fortnite now with touch controls for iOS and Android

Now you can play the game “Fortnite” from Epic Games via GeForce Now with touch controls – outside of the previous beta. This makes it playable without a controller on Apple iOS (via the Safari browser) or Android (via the GeForce Now app). Nvidia and Epic Games recommend a 5 GHz connection for best performance.

You will get the best results on Android if you use a device with a 120 Hz display. According to Nvidia, they have worked closely with Epic Games to provide the best possible experience. Now that you are exiting the beta, there are no more waiting lists. We learned a lot in the closed beta and look forward to unlocking “Fortnite” for even more players on the go via cloud gaming.

Did you participate in the beta? As a thank you, you will soon receive an email with details on how to try GeForce Now Priority free for three days. If you’re wondering why you should play “Fortnite” via GeForce Now when there’s an optimized app for Android anyway: If you’ve subscribed to the Priority and RTX 3080 tariffs, you should notice a difference in graphics quality, since basically the PC version is streamed, which of course technically aims higher.

I’ve had the chance to take a look myself, but I’m not the best use case: With the Black Shark 4 Pro, I have a powerful gaming smartphone at my disposal and I would prefer the native Android version. Because the lower latencies are noticeable in such a shooter.

However, the graphics quality is indeed noticeably higher via GeForce Now and the video compression is practically irrelevant on a small smartphone screen. So here I see an ideal opportunity for owners of entry-level and mid-range smartphones to play “Fortnite” in all its glory on the mobile device – or on iOS, where the classic options have disappeared due to the dispute between Apple and Epic Games.

In order for you to be able to stream “Fortnite” via GeForce Now, you should also have linked your Epic Games Store account to GeForce Now beforehand and added the title to your collection there. Have fun!
