The OnePlus Nord 2T is not the only new product that OnePlus has in its quiver today. With the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G, another device has been launched onto the market. Even the SuperVOOC fast-charging technology is comparatively slow at the rate at which OnePlus is launching new products.
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G ranks below the Nord CE 2 5G. A kind of successor to the Nord N10 5G, if you will. As you can see: As a normal person, you probably don’t have a chance to see through the product names anymore, but back to the device.
In contrast to the Nord 2T 5G, the Nord CE 2 Lite 5G relies on an SoC from Qualcomm. The Snapdragon 695 is used there. It is manufactured using the 6 nm process and comes to piggyback with a 5G modem and the Adreno 619 as a GPU. With 5G, all frequency bands required in this country should be supported.
It comes with 6 GB of RAM (LPDDR4X) and 128 GB of storage space (UFS 2.2). The memory can be expanded using a microSD card. Everything is packed in a smartphone that weighs 195 grams and is 8.5 millimeters thick. OnePlus also relies on OxygenOS 12.1 for the Nord CE 2 Lite. Two more software versions and 3 years of security updates are promised.
On the front: a 6.59-inch (approx. 17 cm) display. The IPS panel comes with 120 Hz and Full HD+. The 16-megapixel camera with the Sony IMX471 as a sensor is also placed on the front in a punch-hole recess. On the other hand, the OnePlus advertises a triple camera on the back. It consists of a 64-megapixel main sensor, 2-megapixel depth sensor and 2-megapixel macro camera. In fact, more of a single camera lens if you look at the other two lenses more cynically.
The battery capacity is 5,000 mAh. This puts you in the league of other OnePlus smartphones. The loading speed is different. Here you have to be satisfied with 33 watts. That’s fast, considering the 80 watts that other devices have been equipped with so far, but nothing unusual. Should be enough for most people, because a battery level of 50 percent is reached within 30 minutes. The USB-C port used for charging is limited to USB 2.0. In addition, one offers a surprise, also a jack connection.
The Nord CE 2 Lite 5G with 128 GB costs 299 euros. There isn’t a selection, but there are color variants. Blue Tide and Black Dusk are available there. Can be pre-ordered from today, officially in stores until May 24th.
