BOE has no chance to supply OLED screens for Apple’s iPhone 14

The latest report from TheElec claims that BOE has not yet received approval from Apple to manufacture OLED panels for the iPhone 14. Previously, the same source said that BOE basically did not supply OLEDs for the iPhone this year, because it “unauthorized” modified the thin-film transistor line width of the OLEDs required for the iPhone 13 to increase revenue, but it was “returned” by Apple.

According to the report, although BOE appointed executives to communicate with Apple to explain and try to win orders for the iPhone 14, it is still pending. Judging from the current signs, BOE may have basically been out of the screen orders for the iPhone 14. Apple is even considering transferring the originally planned 30 million OLED (iPhone 12/13/14) orders for this year to Samsung and LG for sharing.

It is reported that Apple intends to purchase as many as 150 million OLED panels for the iPhone 14 series to ensure production. Among them, Samsung will exclusively supply the 6.1-inch OLED required for the iPhone 14 Pro, and LG will supply LTPO OLED for Apple for the first time, targeting the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max.

It is worth mentioning that regarding Apple’s cancellation of BOE ‘s mobile phone screen orders, BOE has repeatedly responded with “no comment” on the investment platform, and emphasized that the company’s AMOLED production line is operating normally, and the annual target has not changed.
