Xiaomi today presented in China the fitness trackers Band 7 and Band 7 NFC. The popular and extremely successful fitness tracker now comes with an improved design, a larger display and a few extra features.

Apart from the integration of NFC, which is useful for payments and tickets, the remaining specifications of the Band 7 and The Band 7 NFC are identical. The newly introduced Xiaomi Band 7 features a 1.62″ AMOLED display, multiple fitness and sports modes, longer battery life and support for multiple watch faces. The Xiaomi Band 7 does not have built-in GPS, as previously speculated.

The Xiaomi Band 7 costs CNY 239 (about EUR 34.00) and the Band 7 NFC version costs CNY 279 (about EUR 39.00). The fitness tracker will be available in China from May 31.

The first major innovation comes in the form of the display. The Xiaomi Band 7 offers a large 1.6″ AMOLED display. The 25 percent larger display makes it easier to display more data on the display. The band also supports the always-on display feature, which is one of the most desired features. Volume 7 also features a redesigned user interface with new icons, animations, and visuals.

The Xiaomi Band 7 has a 24/7 heart rate monitor, as well as a SpO2 monitor to monitor the level of oxygen in the blood. In addition, there is also a sleep tracking with a detailed breakdown of deep and light sleep. The band offers support for 120 sports, including walking, running, cycling and more.

As for battery life, it has a 180 mAh battery that is said to last up to 14 days. Other features include 5ATM water resistance, smart notifications, and multiple color options. The band is currently only available in China, but a global launch is likely to be in the next few months.
