Proton changes site and unifies Mail, Calendar, VPN and Drive

Proton Mail, an encrypted and privacy-focused email service, has been a very popular solution for several years now, and as its success has grown, it has also launched other services, such as Proton Calendar and Proton VPN.

Well, the company has decided that the time has come to unify them under a single product that will also include the main one dedicated to e-mail: in essence, the new Proton will offer users an account, many services and a privacy ecosystem by default.

A new Proton is born with all the unified services

According to what was explained by Andy Yen, CEO of Proton, the new site can be considered as a sort of centralized hub through which it will be possible to access all the company’s services, such as Proton Mail, Proton VPN, Proton Calendar and Proton Drive.

Andy Yen specifies that further services will be launched in the future, in order to guarantee users an increasingly rich ecosystem. The Proton team is keen to reassure users who fear that their current email address may change that there is nothing to worry about: the @ protonmail.com addresses, in fact, will remain unchanged and it will be the site itself to provide for the redirection. to proton.me, as well as web applications (mail.protonmail.com, calendar.protonmail.com, etc.).

The Proton team has also decided to take the opportunity to introduce new logos and colors and a more modern design, which will be shared by all the company’s apps:

Despite the graphic changes and the unification of the various Proton services, the company emphasizes that the substance remains unchanged:

  • Proton Mail ensures that emails are private
  • Proton VPN keeps your internet activity private and unblocks all content
  • Proton Calendar protects your life events with encryption
  • Proton Drive stores and backs up your important documents with end-to-end encryption
