Javier Bardem said that Dune Part 2 will surprise readers of the novel saga, with a plot that will be handled differently than one might expect.
“I’ve read the new draft,” Bardem revealed, “and I think they’ve done an amazing job of putting the pieces together in a way that will surprise people. They won’t be surprised [by what happens], of course, because they’ve read the book, but they will be surprised by the way they put it together. It moved me a lot. It is a dense film, you can feel the weight of and at the same time [you can enjoy] its spectacularity. to go back to the desert with those people and I’m very happy to be back [to work] with Denis, who is one of the greatest directors ever. He’s a lovely man.”
Dune Part 2 is also expected to see the return of Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atredies, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck and Zendaya as Chani, while Christopher Walker will play Emperor Shaddam IV, Austin Butler will be Feyd-Rautha. Florence Pugh is in talks to play Princess Irulan.
