Apple ad leak appears to confirm major design changes coming to the iPhone 14 Pro

We’re still months away from the iPhone 14’s launch, but the iPhone 14 Pro’s new screen design appears to have been confirmed by artwork in a leaked Apple Pay ad. Uploaded to YouTube from the Apple Archive Thai channel, the 15-second video demonstrates the basics of using Apple Pay in stores. But the phone’s stylized imagery clearly has a pair of smaller screen holes in place of the notch.

The tipster says the Face ID sensor will be located in a more slender diamond shape on the left, while the front-facing camera will occupy the punch-hole on the right, a video that suggests Apple will use it as a notch-like identifying feature.

It’s hard to say whether this video is justified, especially since Apple Archive Thai is a little-known channel with relatively few subscribers and not much track record. But it certainly looks plausible, and if it’s fake, it’s only to say that the makers have a pretty good grasp on capturing Apple’s visual and musical aesthetics.

To be honest, the existence of this video is also justified. Apple usually has a whole package of marketing materials ready when the iPhone 14 Pro is revealed to familiarize customers with the new design, and updating everything to show the 14 Pro instead of the 13 Pro is a huge undertaking. With less than four months to go before the launch, a slew of videos of finished or near-finished products like this will be circulating online.
