The latest Instagram update brings some news for the Reels

In its constant quest for improvement, which aims to counter the progress of competitors such as TikTok and Snapchat, Meta has released new features for Instagram, especially the Reels feature. Let’s see what it is.

Here are the latest innovations introduced

Creators who use the well-known social network now have access to a library of improved sound effects, to give an extra touch to their content; they also have the ability to import audio files directly into Reels.

The new function is accessible through the appropriate “Import audio” switch, a video clip of at least five seconds will be required for the purpose, from which the audio will be extracted and imported into Reels. Once this is done, all users will have the option to use the sounds in question in their content.

Also, as previous rumors suggested, the time limit for the Reels has been raised from the previous 60 seconds down to 90 seconds. In short, although the 10 minutes offered by TikTok are not reached, it is still a considerable increase if we consider that initially, the length allowed by the Instagram Reels was 15 seconds, then passed to 30 seconds, 60 seconds, and now to 90 seconds.

Obviously, the novelty refers to the recording of a new Reel from the camera integrated into the application since it is still possible to load longer videos which are also classified as Reels.

Another novelty is being able to create polls and quizzes for the community, giving users the ability to use emojis to rate content, as is already the case with Stories.

Finally, a new feature introduced by the update concerns the Templates, creators will have the ability to easily synchronize clips with music and video; the template will come preloaded with a placeholder and can be edited.
