A few days after the official reveal of the gameplay of Street Fighter 6, Capcom has decided to reveal some other details on the awaited sixth chapter of the fighting game series.
The Osaka company has in fact shown a new image of Ryu, the undisputed protagonist of the brand, which allows you to carefully observe all the details. Unlike his previous versions, the new bearded Ryu wears a Buddhist robe called a kasaya, which is nothing more than a reminder of his old master Gouken.
It would seem that, despite not having achieved his goals, Street Fighter 6’s Ryu is much more skilled in combat and this will also be understood by his renewed moveset. According to the statements of Capcom, the story of the new episode of the series will be set a few years after Street Fighter III.
“Although Street Fighter 6 occurs after the Street Fighter III series, Ryu still feels that he’s “not there yet” – though he seems to have gained some dignity. The way he wears the kasaya (Buddhist robe) is reminiscent of his master, Goken.”
