Safari browser will support web image translation, extension synchronization

Apple released iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura system, and has released the first developer preview Beta. Later this fall, Safari will gain the ability to translate web images using live text, support for push web notifications on iOS, extension sync across iOS, iPadOS and macOS, and more.

In iOS 16 and macOS Ventura, Safari is getting some small improvements after a more significant redesign last year. Last year, Apple launched Safari extensions on iOS and iPadOS, and this year users can enable extension sync across their iOS, iPadOS and macOS devices, ensuring a more seamless browsing experience across platforms.

On iOS and macOS, Safari also gets Shared Tab Groups, an easy way to share a set of tabs with friends and family. All members of a tab group can add tabs to lists and collaborate. For individual tab groups, Apple is adding the ability to create dedicated start pages for tab groups and pin tabs in Safari tab groups. Other small changes include improved password suggestions based on site-specific requirements, cross-device syncing of site settings, and more.

These changes will arrive as part of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura, all of which are currently being beta-tested by developers. A public beta will be released in July, followed by an official release in the fall.
