Pixel 6 update fixes one of the most annoying display errors after 7 months

Not all things are understandable about the Pixel 6 smartphones. This includes some odd behaviors of the displays. I find that the screen content rotates way too slow at times. In addition, the automatic brightness control is not always on point. Last but not least, there was a curious bug related to the main camera’s LED flashlight from the start.

LED made the display brighter

If you used the LED flashlight, it regularly happened with the Pixel 6 smartphones that the display automatically got brighter. In my experience even up to the brightest level. Very strange behavior that I have never understood. This was also the case with colleagues who had also raised the issue.

Google has finally fixed this bug – after seven months! Basically, Google tackled automatic brightness control with the June update. It has also been improved for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro that the automatic control works better in dark environments.

Brightness control hasn’t just been a problem since the Pixel 6

It’s nice to see that many months later, Google is also eliminating known errors. Although as a user you can certainly complain that the error correction may have been a little too long in coming. Especially with the 900 Euro Pixel 6 Pro you can and should criticize that, precisely because the errors or disadvantages have been known for a long time.

Especially since, in retrospect, one has to say that controlling the brightness was not always the best thing, even on older pixel smartphones. There are manufacturers who do it better.
