Assassin’s Creed: Origins rolls out 60fps display update, free weekend is now open

Today (June 17), to celebrate the launch of the 60FPS Update, Ubisoft announced that the Assassin’s Creed: Origins free weekend event is now open until June 20. Support for 60fps display has always been a feature that fans around the world have been waiting for, and now it’s finally here.

To thank fans and celebrate 15 years of passion, creativity and long-term support from players, the update to Assassin’s Creed: Origins is just the first of many surprises, more to come on the dedicated page! The 60-frame display function can be turned on on Xbox Series X|S and PS5.

Assassin’s Creed: Origins Free Weekend is now open!

Assassin’s Creed: Origins is set in ancient Egypt, a mysterious and pivotal period in the formation of civilization. Players will play Bayek, the guardian of Egypt and one of the first assassins, into a lively and systematic open world to discover the secrets behind the Great Pyramid, the forgotten myths and the last pharaoh.

Note: Game progress during the free weekend event will be preserved after the player purchases the full game (on the same platform). An internet connection is required to start the game as a free player (PC/PS4/PS5). For the PS platform, all players except German players can get a free weekend trial, regardless of whether they subscribe to the PS+ service.

For the Xbox platform, players need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to participate in the free weekend trial. Players will need to subscribe on Uplay to get a free weekend trial. DLC and game content can be purchased and used. Ownership will also be retained after the player purchases the full version of the game.
