Summary of Apple’s July 2022 plans

According to the latest report, for Apple, the summer months after WWDC are usually a relatively quiet time of the year, but there are still some projects worth looking forward to in July. Apple is expected to do the following 6 things in the next 6 weeks.

As part of WWDC22, Apple announced that it will release public betas of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13 Ventura, watchOS 9, tvOS 16, and HomePod software version 16 sometime in July, allowing more users to test the new system software, the system will be more stable. The Developer Preview Beta is currently available. iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS Ventura, and watchOS 9 will all be publicly released this fall.

Apple says the new MacBook Air with the M2 chip will be available in July, but the company hasn’t announced an exact launch date. The M2 MacBook Air starts at $1,199 in the United States, and the MacBook Air with the M1 chip still starts at $999.

The new M2 MacBook Air has been redesigned with a larger 13.6-inch display, notch, flatter edges, new Starlight and Midnight color options, and Space Gray and Silver. The laptop also features MagSafe charging, an upgraded 1080p camera, and more.

Apple’s annual back-to-school promotions typically launch in the U.S., Canada, and select other countries in June or July. Last year, the U.S. sale kicked off on June 17, offering eligible students and educators free AirPods 2 with the purchase of an eligible Mac or iPad model, plus a 20% discount on the AppleCare+ plan. By 2022, Apple will likely offer AirPods for free again with the purchase of an eligible Mac or iPad model.
