iOS 16 also improves integration with Shazam

During the WWDC 2022 keynote, Apple dedicated a lot of space to the presentation of iOS 16, focusing on the macroscopic innovations, the ones with the greatest impact. In recent weeks, however, we are discovering more and more of the new operating system, from functions that facilitate the simultaneous editing of multiple photos and videos to those that will allow you to skip CAPTCHAs to prove sites and apps that we are not robots.

SEARCHES SYNCHRONIZED WITH THE APP

And today we learn of another new feature, which besides being included in iOS 16 has already been implemented in the beta of iOS 15.6. As iPhone users will probably know, starting from 2020 – and precisely from the iOS 14.2 distribution -, Apple has introduced in the Control Center the possibility of activating the recognition of a piece of music, a technology based on Shazam (a reality that Cupertino has acquired in 2018, paying $ 400 million).

Well, the integration between music recognition accessible directly from the Control Center and the Shazam app with iOS 15.6 beta and iOS 16 becomes deeper and more complete. Currently, in fact, the history of the songs recognized using the shortcut was not available from the app: and it is precisely this aspect that changes, with the arrival of the synchronization of the results between the Control Center and the Shazam app.

Obviously, this does not mean that it will always be possible to consult the history also from the Control Center by pressing at length on the dedicated key. If you have not enabled (or disabled) the Shazam music recognition in the Control Center, the procedure to follow to activate it is simple.

The requirement, as mentioned previously, is to have iOS 14.2 or later versions installed on your iPhone: at this point, it will be sufficient to open the Settings, select “Control Center” and from here search for “Song recognition” under the heading Further controls. Finally, just press the + button to add Shazam.
