OnePlus changes home to its community: welcome to Orbit

In recent years OnePlus has grown considerably as a company, managing to establish itself among the main smartphone manufacturers but it undoubtedly owes part of its great success to its origins: we remember, in fact, that this brand was born with the idea of being close to technology enthusiasts and to the community that revolves around the Google OS.

And, despite the many years that have passed, that community is still very active, so much so that OnePlus often relies on it to test new features or to highlight the products it is about to launch.

Well, it seems that the Chinese manufacturer believes that the time has come to kick off a new kind of engagement with its users and is preparing to move its popular forum to a completely new and improved solution.

OnePlus brings its community to Orbit

The new solution studied by the Chinese manufacturer has the code name Orbit and will replace the current community of the company (ie the forum, the app, etc.). The migration process will take a few days (it will start on June 28 and, according to the company’s plans, should end on June 30) and during this period the creation of content on the forums will be suspended.

Once completed, all posts, comments, member data and direct messages will have moved to their new home. The numbers published by OnePlus relating to the data to be transferred give an idea of how active its community is :

  • 1,163,705 posts
  • 22,518,985 of messages
  • 6,164,636 members
  • 5,842,487 direct messages

The news coming in the summer

The OnePlus team has already anticipated the main innovations that will be introduced between June and August on Orbit and among the most interesting we find the improvement in the loading speed (this applies to both the app and the Web), a new system of medals to reward members, the ability to add polls to their posts, new ways to win prizes, a feedback tool, and the ability to save (and manage) threads.

There will obviously be important improvements to the user interface and the resolution of numerous bugs. Basically, for OnePlus fans it promises to be a very hot summer and, if you are curious to try the new experience designed by the manufacturer, all you have to do is visit the site dedicated to its community starting from 30 June.
