Overwatch 2: Guilds are high on Blizzard developers’ priorities

In a recent AMA on Reddit, game director Aaron Keller revealed that “near the top of the priority list” of the Overwatch 2 developers is to introduce a guild-based system, which among other things is also one of the Frequent requests from the Blizzard shooter community.

“We are looking to add more social systems to Overwatch 2 and a guild system is almost at the top of the list for us,” Keller said during the back-and-forth with fans, also confirming that the Blizzard team is actively working on this front. , but that it is still too early to say exactly when they will be introduced.

Considering the importance of team play and roles in Blizzard’s shooter, a guild system could actually prove to be a very welcome feature for players who struggle to find other users to play competitive matches with or simply avoid the matchmaking lottery.

In any case, Keller got his hands on stating that the introduction of guilds in Overwatch 2 represents a big change and that the work on this feature is also involving “several other departments of Blizzard”, a sign that it may not arrive any time soon.

We remind you that Overwatch 2 will be available for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch from 4th October. A limited number of the beta will be available on June 28, here’s how to sign up.
