Overwatch 2: Blizzard thinks of a guild system and in-game tournaments

In addition to confirming that Overwatch 2 will effectively replace the first chapter of the hero shooter series once it is available in early access on October 4th, Blizzard Entertainment has unveiled some features that it is considering for the future of its new shooter.

While not confirming their possible integration, Blizzard explained in an AMA session on Reddit that they were considering the possibility of adding a guild system and in-game tournaments during the post-launch support of Overwatch 2.

“We are looking to add more social systems in Overwatch 2 and a guild system is at the top of the list for us. A feature like this is a great opportunity and something we are really excited about. We have worked significantly on this feature, but it’s too early to talk about details or when they might come out. In-game tournaments are something the team is starting to think about more. ”

Keller also explained that the Blizzard team currently on Overwatch 2 is three times the size of the one who worked on the first game. Despite this, given that the developers are also working on the PvE component and many other things, it is not advisable to rush the launch of the new heroes that will gradually be added to the roster.

Blizzard has confirmed that it will hold a competitive test during the second Beta of Overwatch 2.
