Nothing Phone (1) Glyph Interface light strip system gets started

The Nothing Phone (1) hands-on video exposed a few days ago not only shows the complete design of the phone but also shows many details of the Glyph interface on the rear panel of the phone.

The back of Nothing Phone (1) houses a dual-camera setup, a red-dot video recording indicator and LED lights that show charge percentage, call notifications and wireless charging appointments, which the London-based startup likes to call the Glyph Interface.

The Glyph Interface system in the Nothing Phone (1) settings menu allows the user to control and customize the LEDs on the back. Users can adjust the brightness of the LEDs and set a personal custom ringtone, and the light strip will sync with the ringtone.

This menu also allows you to use the Flip-to-Glyph feature, which only works when the Nothing Phone (1) is on its back. It flashes lights to indicate notifications or incoming calls. The LEDs also show you the wireless charging status and battery level, but you have to wiggle the phone a little.

In addition, the Nothing Phone (1) Glyph Interface can be scheduled to turn on or off at specific times of the day, or set to silent mode with only light notifications for deeper attention. These are just introductory features, more customization will come through software updates.

The Nothing Phone (1) is said to feature a 120Hz OLED panel and it will draw power from an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor. It will likely run on Android 12-based Nothing OS out of the box. No phone(1) can be equipped with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging.
