Android 13 Beta is now available and gives you early access to test new features for our next unreleased platform, which is still in active development. Android 12 QPR3 beta has concluded with the public release of the June Pixel monthly software update.
Today, Android 13 Beta 3.3 was released with many new improvements. Android 13 Beta 3.3 is like Beta 3.2, focused on squashing some serious bugs that couldn’t wait for a mainline beta release. Although a handful of the issues noted in today’s changelog are consequential, none are as frustrating as Google’s current Wi-Fi bug, which prevented some devices from connecting to available networks. That’s about as bad as a bug can get, especially if your beta-friendly Pixel happens to be on a cellular plan with a data cap.
Google also released the Android 13 Beta 3.3 and the easter egg is also activated by pointing the hour and minute hands to 1 o’clock, or 13:00 in military time. The Dynamic Color bubbles are unchanged, but the real fun starts when you hold down on them. The circles change into emojis, and you can keep long-pressing to cycle through fourteen thematic character sets.
Fruit, Cat faces, Regular faces, Expressive (eye) faces, Melting face, Hearts/love, Outer space, Moon, Aquatic life, Monkeys, Zodiac, Clocks, Flowers, Turtle king
One particular delight is the beloved turtle emoji paired with stars and crowns — the king, truly. There are various moon configurations, while the melting face emoji feels particularly appropriate.
Currently, the status bar still shows the wallpaper instead of applying a solid background color. There’s also no change to the Paint chips home screen widget that reveals the current Dynamic Color palette and can be tapped through for quick sharing.
