Google is likely to release more Pixel-exclusive features for Android

Oops, Google seems to be in a spending mood right now. For another feature that was previously exclusive to Google Pixel, it could be determined that a release could be planned.

With Google, this usually means a release via Google Play services or another way to accomplish a previously exclusive function for other Android devices.

This refers to smartphones from other manufacturers. How exactly and when the respective feature comes to other devices can happen very differently. And it’s not set in stone.

Source codes reveal Google’s plans early

In any case, we reported a few days ago that it is very likely that the accident detection of Pixel phones can be taken over by other manufacturers. And the iOS to Android app will be compatible with all Android 12 phones.

Some of the changes are official, and others are discovered early. The situation is similar now with the gaming dashboard, which hasn’t been around that long.

This is how it shows up in games:

Google is outsourcing its gaming dashboard

So far, the gaming dashboard has been tied to Google’s SystemUI, which of course is only available on Pixel phones. However, they are currently working on outsourcing to the Google Play services, which are included on all Android devices with Google services. This should make it easier to update the feature in the future. This also makes it possible to share it with other Android devices.

As indicated at the beginning, this change is no guarantee that it will be released for all Android manufacturers. But Google is very interested in creating a certain standard for Android in many areas. As mobile gaming becomes more and more important, it is only logical to take steps in this direction.
