YouTube and other platforms show pages belonging to Illinois shooting suspect

YouTube, Instagram, Discord and Twitter moved to quickly take down social media pages that appeared to belong to Robert Crimo III, the suspect in the recent shooting in a Chicago suburb that killed six people and wounded dozens more.

Under a pair of aliases, Crimo appears to have posted more than a dozen videos on YouTube and hosted a Discord channel called “SS”, which is open to the public via an invite link.

According to The Verge, Crimo’s more prominent YouTube account hadn’t posted a video for about eight months before the account was taken down. Recent videos include sticker descriptions of language and images that appear to involve classrooms and people who have been shot.

Another clip appears to be a music video for a rap song, ending with Crimo in protective gear, handling bullets in what appears to be a classroom.

Under a rap alias, Crimo appears to have released multiple albums on Spotify and several EPs and singles on Apple Music. Social media posts suggest that Crimo-linked TikTok accounts may have also been removed.

The Verge has reached out to all of the aforementioned platforms for comment. But as of press time, none of the platforms responded.
