Android 13 Beta 4 rolled out for all Pixel devices

Google is racing through the versions and released the fourth and presumably last Android 13 beta a few minutes ago. The new version is now available for download and, as a significant interim step, has officially achieved the status of ‘Release Candidate’ – more than a month earlier than Android 12. The Android 13 Beta 4 can now be downloaded via the beta channel on the Pixel Smartphones can be tried out and should have some hidden innovations in their luggage.

There is a new Android 13 beta. After Google released four versions of Android 13 Beta 3 in June, they are now following up with the fourth beta. Last beta and release candidate. No changes or innovations have been officially announced, but these will probably still be plentiful under the hood and will only be discovered by the hard-working sleuths over the course of the next few hours.

This is the time to begin the final testing and development work needed to ensure that a compatible version of your app will be ready for users at the final release to the ecosystem. Android 13 will provide a standard API level at this time.

The highlight of this release is that the ‘Release Candidate’ has been reached. This means that now is the time again for app developers to try their apps with the new version. If there are no significant problems with the operating system or the app developers, the candidate is confirmed and can be rolled out as the final version for all Pixel smartphones shortly thereafter. Google speaks of a planned rollout “in the next few weeks”.
