Chrome OS Flex exits beta status

Chrome OS Flex was announced in mid-February. Chrome OS Flex aims to be a new, secure operating system x that essentially brings a cloud-based version of Chrome OS to your laptop.

Google today announced that it has certified more than 400 devices for Chrome OS Flex compatibility. Google promises more devices will be added over time. All you need is a USB stick to install Chrome OS Flex on old devices.

The new version of Chrome OS Flex also includes a number of improvements based on feedback during the first test run. This includes additional device compatibility, stability improvements and much more.

The Google Assistant, Family Link accounts, Smart Lock, Instant Tethering and Nearby Share are also supported. Unlike Chrome OS, it is compatible with a wide range of PCs and Macs.
