Bungie filed a complaint against a Destiny 2 player and Twitch streamer, accusing him of using cheats and threatening the developers. The player in question is called Luca Leone and is known in the community for his Destiny 2 live streams, on his iffy world channel, where he regularly uses cheats to play.
Bungie banned him repeatedly, but Leone returned to the charge every time. Do you think that he created thirteen different accounts to try to avoid the bans and with each of them he violated the license agreements of the game?
In addition, our keyboard Lion sent out threatening messages using his Twitter account, expressing a desire to set fire to the Bungie offices and saying that some Bungie employees would not be safe, as he was about to move nearby. Community manager Dylan Gafner was also threatened.
Reading the lawsuit, we also learn that Leone is accused of being an active member of OGUsers, a forum where Destiny 2 non-transferable items, such as emblems, are sold.
In short, Leone would have accumulated a long series of behaviors considered illegal, including threats and more, so much so that Bungie no longer wanted to endure and decided to take action. Unfortunately, the toxic behaviors of gamers against developers are widespread, so much so that often the latter avoid communicating publicly in order not to suffer retaliation from these people. We hope that something will change with time, but we don’t believe in it.
