Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 4 sold in Brazil with a charger in box

In consideration of environmental protection and reducing the burden on the company’s financial resources, Samsung no longer includes a charger with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. However, according to Brazilian law, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 will be provided with a charger inside the package.

According to the screenshot information disclosed by whistleblower Abhishek Yadav, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 dual-SIM version with the model “SM-F936B/DS” and the single-SIM version of Galaxy Z Flip 4 with the model “SM-F721B” recently passed Brazilian regulators ANATEL certification. In the certification information, both models are equipped with a charger.

For the past few years, Brazil has been asking phone makers like Apple and Samsung to provide chargers and headphones. Regulators in the country believe that consumers are already paying very high prices for these flagships, and the fact that the extra accessories are not included in the package means that consumers need to spend more money. According to local laws in Brazil, consumers do not need to purchase additional rear-mounted chargers.

If Samsung does not comply with this rule in Brazil, it will face very high fines. If Samsung pulls out of Brazil because of its unwillingness to comply with Brazilian laws, it will instead make room for other competitors such as Apple. So Samsung will abide by Brazil’s regulations.
