PUBG: Next-gen patch available on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S complete with new map

Just as promised in recent days, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S owners can download the PUBG Battlegrounds next-gen patch that makes the graphics and performance improvements of the Battle Royale available.

The game’s update 18.2 introduced the new Deston map, set to 8v8 matches and set in the near future with a variety of biomes, such as murky swamps, clear shores, mountains and islands.

The update also introduces new transport methods, weapons, and two special events. Deston will feature ascenders to help players break into skyscrapers and, in some cases, will be the only way to reach the top floors of specific buildings. The parachute will allow you to jump from high areas and land safely.

Some new vehicles, such as airboats, can be driven over land and water, and are intended to help players travel easily through biomes. New weapons have also been introduced, such as the O12 rifle.

The 18.2 will present, as promised, also the graphic update and the increased framerate for Xbox Series X and PS5. According to the table provided by the developers, it seems that PlayStation 5 also supports 4K resolution at 60fps, although it was previously stated that, even in the presence of compatible monitors, it would not go beyond 1440p on the Sony console (it is not excluded that refer to upscaling techniques).
