Regardless of the increasingly insistent rumors about the reveal of GTA 6, the guys of Rockstar Games are preparing to overturn once again the multiplayer universe of GTA 5 with The Criminal Enterprises, an expansion that promises to offer many activities and surprises to fans of GTA Online.
The narrative plot drawn up by the Big R to tell us about this umpteenth change in the virtual world of GTA Online starts from the assumption that “Southern San Andreas’s economy is in crisis, gasoline prices are skyrocketing, retailers are in turmoil and, as if that were not enough, an atrocious heat wave is immobilizing the state”.
The successive disasters in the San Andreas region will represent a revenue opportunity only for corrupt executives, bikers, nightclub managers and arms dealers, with the Duggan oil tycoons busy manipulating the system in their favor.
With The Criminal Enterprises, we will thus see the arrival of new missions and numerous additions to the gaming experience that will pass, for example, the introduction of new Criminal Careers and undercover activities as agents of the IAA of the Duggans.
The free expansion will also affect the Criminal Career progression system, granting greater rewards for completing a wide range of activities. There will also be themed challenges to be faced to obtain vehicles, collectibles and weapons during events that will last throughout the summer.
Based on the indications offered by the players, Rockstar has taken care to further optimize the gaming experience by modifying, for example, the effectiveness of the Oppressor Mk2’s search missiles, the restoration of health during firefights, or access quick to consumable items and equipment such as snacks and bulletproof vests.
Also on the gaming economy front, Rockstar has stepped in to make important corrections, from the permanent increase in earnings from races and Competition modes to the increase in salaries for guards, associates and MC members.
More details on the gameplay changes and new game dynamics foreseen by the expansion will be shared by the developers close to the launch of The Criminal Enterprises, scheduled for July 26 on PC, PS4, Xbox One and for the nextgen version of GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S.
