Android Auto is here in a new version

Google is again pushing a fresh update for Android Auto. Nevertheless, the hoped-for news didn’t materialize, which is why we’re looking forward to the upcoming app version.

A few days ago, a new feature appeared in Android Auto. Google has revised the media player view. The blurred background is implemented for the entire screen, therefore also on larger displays. In addition, the progress bar is now very large and much easier to use.

The new app version is 7.9 and was released over the weekend. It brings no obvious further innovations. You can’t find anything in the changelog either, it hasn’t been updated. What is also not automatically included in the major conversion is called Coolwalk, which is supposed to bring a completely new design for Android Auto.

Google said the new design with new features is coming in the summer. However, you take your time with the rollout. I already said two months ago that I expect the implementation for Android Auto 8.0, which will start next August, maybe in a few days in the beta version. Version 7.9 might bring some bug fixes for bugs from the last few weeks.

Android Auto: The new version can be downloaded in two ways

You can get the latest version of Android Auto directly from the Google Play Store (also applies to the beta) or a whole lot faster via the so-called Apkmirror.
