Xbox Series X | S: A new update greatly reduces console startup times

As reported by The Verge, the new system update for Xbox Series X and S currently available to subscribers to the Insider program dramatically reduces console startup times when powered on.

As you can see for yourself in the video published below on Twitter by Tom Warren, the initial start-up of the system, so from the appearance of the Xbox logo to the loading of the dashboard, is about 7 seconds once the update is installed, compared to 12 seconds of the previous version, therefore a difference of about 5 seconds.

Microsoft confirmed this change, with Xbox director Josh Munsee stating that the company created “a shorter animation to boot (about 4 seconds) than the original (about 9 seconds), to reduce the time to start. start”.

Xbox Series X and S owners will only be able to take advantage of the faster startup times if their consoles are set to “Power Saving” rather than “Standby” mode. For the uninitiated, with this option, the console shuts down completely, instead of going into a standby state.

With this solution, you will not be able to immediately start the console and start playing immediately, but on the other hand, you will consume less electricity. This isn’t the only news coming for green-cross players: last week Microsoft announced that Xbox Series X | S will soon support Discord voice chat.
