The Galaxy S23 Ultra will still use the 10 million 3x periscope telephoto lens

A month ago, it was reported that the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ will use the same telephoto lens as the previous generation, which is 10 MP that supports 3x zoom. According to the latest news shared by German technology media Galaxy Club, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will also use this telephoto lens.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will feature a 10-megapixel resolution and a 10x periscope camera, the same specs used on the Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Although using the same hardware, Samsung will bring better optics or a larger sensor to achieve better camera results.

The specs of the second telephoto camera are not yet known. It may be the same 10-megapixel 3x zoom module as the previous two generations, but it may also be upgraded. In terms of the main camera, it is speculated that the 108-megapixel HM3 sensor (1/1.33”, 0.8µm pixels) in the current model may be upgraded to 200 million pixels (possibly HP1, 1/22”, 0.64µm). Naturally, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is more than half a year away, so all this information may change.
