Overwatch 2 will support cross-platform progress and multi-platform accounts can be merged

As per Blizzard’s official announcement, Overwatch 2 will soon support the cross-platform progress and the game players can merge their Overwatch accounts on numerous platforms, and integrate progress and decorative items into one account.

On August 16, every player with a linked console account will be encouraged to, select and confirm which account to merge when logging in, and once the player agrees, the player’s account will be merged when Overwatch 2 goes live.

Overwatch 2 requires players to have a Battle.net account linked to play, even on console. Essentially, player-linked console account progress will be stored in the Battle.net account, allowing Overwatch 2 to share progress across linked accounts.

But it’s worth noting that players only have one chance to merge console accounts, so you need to check carefully before merging. Accounts that can be merged include Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC, but only one per platform. Account merging is currently the only way for console players to carry over their progress to Overwatch: Homecoming, while PC players’ progress will be automatically inherited.
