Google Android 14 need phones to go 64-bit rather than 32-bit

Google Android 13 is available for Pixel devices and the upcoming Android 14 rumors are started rolling out in past some months. The upcoming Android 14 is said to get a lot of changes which is currently offered by Google.

The Android 14 is rumored to get Satellite connectivity as Apple and Huawei have already launched it in their respective new products. Also, Android 14 will get a back gesture, and to give developers time to update their apps, Google decided to defer the launch of this feature until Android 14.

Now, a new report from Esper blog writer Mishaal Rahman suggests that Android AV1 is a video encoding method that works more efficiently and saves lots of bandwidth. The upcoming Android 14 will force devices to support 64-bit-only apps, so the 32-bit-only applications will not get a chance.

The report also mentioned that companies like Samsung, MediaTek, and Google already have products with AV1 hardware decoding support.
