Galaxy Z Fold 3 use less than a year, the screen cracked at the fold

Antonio Lewis, a Samsung user, recently filed a class-action lawsuit against Samsung, claiming that the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s folding technology did not live up to the company’s official promotional durability promise.

In its official promotion, Samsung claimed in the class action document that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 could be folded and unfolded 200,000 times, which is equivalent to five years of use. However, the Z Fold 3 screen has a high failure rate. As a result of cracks in the folding portion and its extension.

According to the lawsuit, the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s screen is extremely susceptible to damage. Tiny particles will enter the device through the hole in the hinge and form bubbles where the screen folds.

Samsung’s testing environment does not include real-world applications. It exposes the phone to environmental factors like temperature fluctuations, dust, sweat, water, and everyday handling. All of which can affect the hinge’s durability and functionality.

Lewis stated that he would purchase the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in 2021 for approximately $1,800. But the device’s screen failed less than a year into actual use. He has contacted Samsung’s after-sales service, but the company has stated that the screen cannot be fixed.

Lastly, in its marketing of the Samsung Z fold 3 phones, the class-action lawsuit claims that Samsung engaged in unfair, misleading, and deceptive statements, omissions, and conduct.
