Shortcuts to airport and transit schedules are prepared by At a Glance

Google has launched Cross Device Timers on Pixel phones with this month’s March Feature Drop. At a Glance is now readying a pair of location proximity features when you’re near an airport or transit stop. At a Glance now uses “Flights from Gmail” to provide “Travel” information, such as the location of the nearest baggage claim after arrival.

The beta version of Google app 14.11 shows development on “Near Airport” to “View Arrivals Schedule.” When you are close to an airport (for example, to pick someone up), At a Glance may provide a quick shortcut that directs you to the arrivals website of the airport. Linking to the airport’s website or collaborating with a third-party provider could suffice for this.

Today, you can also “View Arrival and Departure Times” “Near Transport Station.” When you are close to a bus or train station, At a Glance can recognise it and surface the relevant timetable. This might be a shortcut to the functionality that already exists in Google Maps.

Another possibility is that Google may just display the upcoming arrivals and departures, although it is not a use case for the current At a Glance Interface. Also, if there are several lines, it might be challenging to decide what to display.
