Google Wallet expands availability to five additional countries

Google Wallet has extended its reach to include five new regions across the globe, particularly in the Balkans. The announcement was made in a concise community post, highlighting the expansion of Google Wallet’s availability.

The newly supported countries are Albania, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and Montenegro. Users in these regions can now download the Google Wallet app on their Android devices and utilize the tap-to-pay feature in stores that offer NFC support. Furthermore, Wear OS’s Google Wallet is also compatible with these countries.

It is important to note that the availability of Google Wallet varies based on individual banks and credit card providers within each country. For instance, in North Macedonia, the functionality is currently limited to NLB Bank, as reported by a reader of 9to5Google. Similarly, in Albania, ProCredit Bank Albania is the sole supported institution.

To assist users in navigating the diverse support landscape, Google provides a comprehensive support page detailing the banks and providers supported in each country, including the newly added five.
