Display problems plague Pixel Fold

Google’s inaugural foray into the foldable smartphone market with the Pixel Fold seems to have encountered a setback as reports of display issues surface. Despite its recent release, users have already expressed concerns regarding screen damage, including noticeable dents and cracks.

The predicament initially gained attention when Ron Amadeo from Ars Technica reported screen damage on his Pixel Fold after a mere four days of use. Surprisingly, the foldable phone exhibited issues even with minimal usage and no accidental drops.

Amadeo elaborated on the problem, stating, “The lowermost ten pixels on the Pixel Fold ceased functioning, resulting in a row of glaringly bright pixels spanning the entire width of the screen. Furthermore, the entire left segment of the foldable display became unresponsive to touch, followed by the appearance of a gradually intensifying white gradient across the screen.”

Reddit also became a platform for Pixel Fold owners to voice similar concerns. One user encountered issues a mere two hours after initial use, witnessing a pink line traversing the entirety of the screen. Another user reported the presence of minute dents and bumps between the frame and the protective film.

In a separate incident, the protective film on a Pixel Fold began to peel, exposing what appeared to be scratched. Astonishingly, this occurred a mere four hours after the device’s delivery and after being unfolded a mere three times.

Sad, my Pixel Fold screen broke already.
