Galaxy Z Flip 3 receives July 2023 security update

Samsung commenced the rollout of the July 2023 security update for select smartphones earlier this week. Notably, the Galaxy A53, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy S22, and Galaxy S23 have already received the update. Following suit, the South Korean company has now initiated the deployment of the latest security update for the Galaxy Z Flip 3.

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 now benefits from the inclusion of the July 2023 security update through the recently released software update with firmware version F711BXXS5EWF3. This update primarily focuses on resolving over 90 security vulnerabilities present in the Galaxy smartphone lineup, as outlined in Samsung’s security bulletin. It should be noted that this update does not introduce any new features or performance enhancements, as those are slated to arrive with the forthcoming One UI 5.1.1 update, anticipated to be released next month.

Currently, the update is being progressively rolled out in several Latin American countries, including Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, and Peru. In other regions, it is expected to be made available within the coming days. Moreover, Samsung is also expected to release a new update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the near future.

For Galaxy Z Flip 3 users residing in the aforementioned countries, the new update can now be downloaded by navigating to Settings » Software update and selecting the Download and install option. Alternatively, users can acquire the latest firmware file from our firmware database and manually install it. It is important to note that this process requires a Windows PC and the Odin tool.
