Nothing Phone (2) officially released

Nothing, the renowned tech company, has unveiled its latest smartphone, the Nothing Phone (2), marking its official debut. While the design retains its familiar elements, Nothing has made subtle refinements to enhance user experience.

The standout feature of the Nothing Phone (2) is undoubtedly its innovative glyph interface, which has undergone significant improvements and gained new functionalities. The front camera has been ingeniously positioned within a centrally located punch hole, while the back of the phone now boasts a subtle curvature.

Equipped with 33 LED segments, the Nothing Phone (2) offers increased versatility, ensuring compatibility with third-party applications. Users can even customize glyph light ringtones, utilizing glyphs as timers, notification indicators, and more.

Specifications of the Nothing Phone (2):

Featuring a 6.7″ FullHD+ LTPO display, the Nothing Phone (2) delivers a refresh rate of 120 Hz (adaptive 60 Hz-120 Hz) and a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz. The display showcases exceptional brightness, reaching up to 1,600 nits.

Under the hood, the phone houses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, accompanied by the Adreno 730 GPU. It is available in two variants, offering 8 GB and 12 GB of RAM respectively. Storage options include a 256 GB and 512 GB model with 12 GB of RAM, as well as an entry-level variant with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

The rear of the phone features a dual-camera setup, boasting a 50 MP Sony IMX890 sensor (with an aperture of f/1.88, 1/1.56″ sensor size, and 1 μm pixel size) and a 50 MP camera equipped with the Samsung JN1 sensor (f/2.2 aperture, 1/2.76″ sensor size, EIS, and 114° FOV). For selfies, the Nothing Phone (2) offers a 32 MP front-facing camera equipped with the Sony IMX615 sensor.

Powering the device is a 4,700 mAh battery, supporting 45 watts of PD3.0 wired fast charging, 15 watts of Qi wireless charging, and 5 watts of reverse wireless charging.

Additional features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual SIM capability, 5G connectivity, and Face Unlock. The operating system comprises Android 13 with Nothing OS 2.0, accompanied by the Nothing Launcher. Nothing commits to providing Android device updates for three years, along with security patches every two months for a duration of four years. The phone’s dimensions are 162.1 x 76.4 x 8.6mm, weighing 201.2g, and it possesses an IP54 rating.

Pricing and Availability of the Nothing Phone (2):

The introductory price for the 8 GB + 128 GB model of the Nothing Phone (2) is set at EUR 649.00 and will be exclusively available on the nothing.tech website in Germany and Austria. The 12 GB + 256 GB variant is priced at EUR 699.00, while the high-capacity model with 12 GB + 512 GB storage retails for EUR 799.00. The phone comes in two color options, white and dark grey. Official sales will commence on July 15th.
