Nothing Phone (1) receives Android 14 Beta 3 with enhanced features

Nothing, a leading technology company, has officially launched Android 14 Beta 3 for its Phone (1) model. This release is part of the second phase of the Developer Preview program and is now accessible to all Phone (1) users.

The Android 14 Beta 3 brings a host of exciting new features and enhancements, including an assortment of updated pre-installed applications such as the Nothing launcher, Weather app, and Recorder. Additionally, users can now benefit from a collection of Nothing widgets, along with the newly introduced glyph composer feature complemented by Swedish House Mafia sound packs. Moreover, the beta includes numerous bug fixes and performance optimizations, enhancing the overall user experience.

However, Nothing has been forthcoming about certain known issues that come with the beta update. These issues include the inability to register fingerprints, the unavailability of face unlock functionality, and the non-accessibility of glyph features. Furthermore, users may encounter limitations regarding battery sharing, portrait mode, and slow-motion capabilities within the camera app. Additionally, pre-installed applications, such as Nothing Weather and Nothing X, will not be available in this beta release, nor will the TV connection screencast feature be accessible.

To address these concerns, Nothing has disclosed plans to introduce the next iteration of its UI, Nothing OS 2.0, which is slated for release by the end of August. This upcoming update is expected to rectify the aforementioned issues, ensuring a more seamless and robust user experience.

For individuals who own a Nothing Phone (1) and wish to explore the new features offered in the beta, the update can be easily downloaded via the dedicated Nothing app. However, it is essential to bear in mind that this is a beta version, and as such, certain issues may arise during its usage. Users are encouraged to provide feedback to facilitate further improvements and refinement.
