Samsung unveils One UI 5.1.1 update for Galaxy Foldables and Tablets

Samsung has introduced the highly anticipated One UI 5.1.1 update in conjunction with the release of Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5. This update, which accentuates features tailored for foldable devices and expansive screens, is now being extended to earlier generations of Galaxy foldables and tablets.

Commencing its rollout today, the One UI 5.1.1 update from Samsung introduces an array of refinements and enhancements to the company’s proprietary Android 13 interface.

A notable improvement lies in the updated “Flex Panel” function on Galaxy foldables. This feature can now be activated through a conveniently placed pop-up button when the device is in a partially folded state. Moreover, Flex Panel’s media controls now offer an advanced 10-second fast forward and rewind feature, accompanied by the ability to navigate through the media’s progress bar.

Furthermore, both foldable devices and tablets will now support background content playback and the option to view content through a pop-up window on the Samsung Internet browser. This update also introduces an innovative two-handed drag-and-drop gesture, facilitating seamless movement of files and diverse content between applications. For instance, users can effortlessly transfer images from the Gallery app to Messages.

Incorporating Android’s taskbar feature, One UI 5.1.1 now empowers Galaxy Z Fold and tablet users to conveniently access up to four recent apps, assuming there are four vacant slots.
