Qualcomm has officially revealed the detailed specifications of the ‘Snapdragon 8 3rd generation’ application processor (AP), which will be the standard for the next Android operating system (OS) premium smartphone.

The core of the 3rd generation is the Qualcomm AI Engine. It consists of a hexagon neural network processing unit (NPU) and a sensing hub.
The NPU improved performance by 98% compared to the 2nd generation. Performance per watt has been increased by 40%. The design was changed to run generative AI. The internal memory semiconductor adopts low-power double data rate (LPDDR) 5X.
The maximum speed is 4.8GHz. It can handle 77GB of data per second. Sensing Hub has improved performance by 3.5 times. Memory was increased by 30%.
