According to Huawei Update, Huawei Petal Search has gained 18 million monthly active users overseas and is expected to have 60 million active users by the end of this year. Earlier this week, Huawei held a briefing with some media representatives to introduce the latest developments in its HMS ecosystem.
The briefing was hosted by Dr. Jaime Gonzalo, Vice President of Consumer Mobile Services, and Andreas Zimmer, Huawei’s European Product Director. They disclosed some interesting figures. Huawei’s Petal Search is Huawei’s own search engine, which is expected to reach 60 million overseas active users by the end of 2021.

During the conference call, both executives emphasized that Huawei is very strong in overseas markets. Currently, Huawei Petal Search has 18 million monthly active users outside of China, of which 4 million are located in Europe. Huawei’s achievements are huge because Petal Search didn’t exist 12 months ago.
Petal search allows users to find actors or celebrities through a photo, or they can find products through a snapshot. At the same time, Dr. Gonzalo reiterated that Huawei has been undergoing security reviews, but Petal Search has a certificate issued by the European Union, proving that all user data is protected and safe.
