Google upgrades the Play Store user interface

There have been rumors that Google will adjust the Play Store user interface for a long time. The last major appearance adjustment of the Play Store was in 2019, when a brand-new Material theme was introduced, with a brand-new color scheme and bottom navigation bar. Although these elements still exist, the latest design has been adjusted on the UI to make the entire screen more concise.

When you open the new version of the Play Store user interface for the first time, you will find that the “hamburger” menu on the left does not exist anymore. You will see a dialog box telling you that the Play Store menu items have all been moved to your profile thumbnail.

After clicking, the re-adjusted menu options will pop up. For example, Play Books and Play Movies & TV have been integrated into Library, and Payments and Subscriptions have also been integrated into the same menu option.

The settings menu has also undergone substantial changes, one of which has been revealed before. The new version does not list all the settings but is adjusted to an expandable folder, indicating where you can find which settings. Some elements of application search have also changed. Search will now pull up an enlarged card, and you can easily click to install the app instead of launching the app page first.

However, the new version of the Play Store user interface adjustments is not welcomed by everyone. Some people complain about how Google hides menu items and makes them more difficult to find.
