Facebook appoints its first chief commercial officer

According to reports, social media giant Facebook announced on Thursday that it has appointed Marne Levine, vice president of global cooperation, as the company’s first chief commercial officer. Levine, 50, posted a post saying that she will be responsible for Facebook’s advertising business and global partner-related affairs, reporting to Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg.

Levine has worked at Facebook for more than ten years and has served in many senior executive positions including the chief operating officer of Instagram. Earlier this year, Facebook’s chief revenue officer, David Fischer, who is responsible for the global advertising business and manages the sales and marketing team, said that he will leave at the end of 2021.
