Facebook Messenger collects a lot of user data

It is well known that the majority of manufacturers over time have come to the conclusion that they need to make major changes to their privacy policy and to say that Apple has already made many changes through iOS 14.5. Undoubtedly, it will become more complicated for application developers to collect Apple user data. The same will happen with Android 12. Google will not provide open information to its customers and the information will be locked.

Security & Collection Of User Data

In this context, a survey was conducted and it was shown that 82% of respondents accept the measures applied by various technology companies to limit the collection of data. In addition, 76% do not like receiving targeted ads on the internet and demand that this practice is stopped. The 68% believe that data privacy is very important. Surprisingly, at least 11% more men than women are not bothered to receive targeted online ads.

Well, other interesting statistics coming from the platform show that as of May 16, 15% of Apple users have licensed third-party apps to track them. If you remember, recently, Apple started releasing the iOS 14.5 update, which brings the so-called transparency feature. The latter requires developers to ask users if they want to provide personal data for the purpose of sending ads online.

Some Apps Need More Data.

Interestingly, some apps require access to more data than others, and this is seen in services like Facebook Messenger that actually collects too much useful information. In the Navigation category, Waze GPS is at the top, but InRoute does not share any data.

Obviously, the most popular applications receive the most data. But there are applications that do not need data at all. To survive, they charge a subscription fee for using the app.
