Samsung Gallery app gets update, these are the new features

Samsung is constantly updating its apps with new features, and an update to the Gallery app for phones and tablets is planned for this week. This is new.

Update Samsung Gallery App

The update of the Gallery app for tablets is the most eye-catching. It contains a completely new interface, which makes the app on tablets a lot more user-friendly. Sammobile has already received the update on a Galaxy Tab S7 FE and the appearance of the app can be found in the screenshot below.

This new interface includes a so-called Drawer UI, which basically hides all the extra options in the Gallery app like suggestions, locations, and trash can in the side menu. You can bring up these options again by tapping the three lines at the top left or by swiping in from the left edge of the screen.

According to Sammobile, this new interface will work in both standard and DeX mode for tablets that support DeX, such as the newly announced Galaxy Tab S7 FE. The other new feature coming to the Gallery app via the update is for smartphones. The new feature enables full-screen scrolling by hiding the status bar and navigation buttons when browsing your photos and videos.

That may not be something everyone will find useful, which is probably why full-screen scrolling is disabled by default. So you have to enable it first through the Gallery app settings if you want to use it.

Availability

The update is distributed via the Samsung Galaxy Store and brings the app to version 12.1.07.5. The update is already in the editors because by default apps update automatically in the Galaxy Store is enabled. You may already be able to use the new features.
