Sony today released its first-quarter financial report for the 2021 fiscal year ending June 30. According to the financial report, Sony’s first-quarter revenue was 149.89 billion yen, an increase of 15% from the 1.9629 trillion yen in the same period last year; the net profit attributable to Sony’s shareholders was 211.8 billion yen an increase of 9% from 193.6 billion yen in the same period last year.
Sony said that 2.3 million PS5 and 500,000 PS4 were sold in the first quarter. The Sony Group expects an operating profit of 980 billion yen for the year, compared with a previous forecast of 930 billion yen. The net profit for the whole year is expected to be 700 billion yen, compared with the previous forecast of 660 billion yen.
