Microsoft Teams is about to deploy music mode

Microsoft Teams recently added a new mode called Music Mode designed to transmit high-fidelity music to improve online music courses, music performances, or other non-voice content. If you input music into a meeting or webinar, this feature will significantly improve the quality and accuracy of the audio.

Microsoft plans to officially launch this feature in late August this year, and it is estimated that the deployment will be completed in the middle of next month. For GCC-high and DoD users, Microsoft plans to complete the deployment in October.

After enabling Music Mode, Microsoft Teams can automatically adjust the audio bit rate according to the available bandwidth. For example, it can drop to 48 kbps without affecting the audio/music quality, and users can also choose to enable or disable echo cancellation, noise suppression and other functions.

The Microsoft Teams music mode will optimize the internal audio processing settings, which can significantly improve the quality of music or video streaming in the meeting. To enable music mode, simply navigate to Settings> Device Settings and turn on Hi-Fi music mode.

This function modifies the internal audio processing settings and needs to be configured before joining the meeting. Unable to change settings in the meeting. After entering the meeting, you can open the function by clicking the icon located at the top of the Ubar of Microsoft Teams.

It is worth noting that the music mode is not suitable for everyone, you should use it when you have to enter music or non-voice content into the meeting. For ordinary meetings, Microsoft recommends setting the audio regularly to save bandwidth. However, if you are playing a video with music, you can enable music mode.
